1. The Service We Provide

WattPades is an online library of original romance fiction. We offer readers free access to novel previews and chapters, together with tools such as a bookshelf, reading history, night mode and text controls that run locally in your browser. We may add, change, suspend or remove titles and features at any time, and we will never charge you without your clear consent.

2. Eligibility

By using WattPades you confirm that you are at least 13 years old, and that you are old enough under the laws of your own country to use an online reading service. Because the fiction here centres on adult romantic relationships, readers under 16 should use the site with a parent or guardian. If we learn that someone under 13 is using the service, we may block access without notice.

3. Acceptable Use

You are welcome to read, enjoy and share links to stories. You agree not to:

• Republish or scrape content. Copying, downloading in bulk, screen-scraping, or redistributing our stories or site text without written permission.
• Sell or misrepresent content. Selling chapters, claiming our stories as your own, or using them to build competing products.
• Interfere with the service. Attempting to break, overload, reverse-engineer or gain unauthorised access to the site or its infrastructure.
• Abuse the platform. Posting spam, malware, deceptive links, or harassing content in any interactive area we may offer.
• Break the law. Using WattPades for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable export and data-protection rules.

4. Content Standards

Everything published on WattPades must satisfy our Content Policy: no minors in romantic or sexual contexts, no explicit or "edge" material, no glorified non-consent, no extreme violence, and no harem structures — every story centres on one committed adult couple. We enforce these standards before publication and after, and we may remove any content, or restrict any user, that violates them.

5. Intellectual Property

All stories, covers, text, graphics, logos and software on WattPades are owned by WattPades or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and read the content for your own private, non-commercial enjoyment. Nothing on the site grants you any ownership right in our content or brand.

WattPades respects the intellectual property of others. If you believe material on the site infringes your copyright, please send a notice to [email protected] including enough detail for us to locate the material; we respond in good faith and act quickly. Our commitment is described further in the Disclaimer.

6. Accounts

Reading on WattPades does not require an account. Where we offer optional accounts in the future, you agree to provide accurate information, keep your credentials secure, and take responsibility for activity under your account. We may suspend or delete accounts that violate these Terms.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including, but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Fiction is fiction: stories, characters and events are imaginary, and reading content on this site is not professional, medical, legal or financial advice.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, WattPades and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service — even if we were advised of the possibility of such damages. Because some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, these limits may not apply to you in full.

9. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless WattPades and its operators from any claims, losses or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the service, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the service, in whole or in part, at any time for any reason — including, without limitation, if you breach these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including 5, 7, 8, 9 and 12) will continue to apply.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page with an updated date below. Material changes will be flagged on our homepage. If you keep using WattPades after changes are posted, you accept the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in your country of residence, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, and by any mandatory consumer-protection rules that apply to you. We encourage you to contact us first about any concern — most issues are resolved with a friendly email. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, you agree to resolve it in the courts of your country of residence (or, where applicable, your state or province).
